William “Bill” B. Remis has provided counsel to developers, Fortune 500 companies, business owners, investors, and individuals on all aspects of real estate ownership and development for projects in St. Louis and throughout the United States. Bill devotes a significant portion of his practice to working with real estate developers and investors on complex commercial development, acquisition, financing and sale of retail, industrial, multifamily and mixed-use projects. He has extensive experience negotiating, preparing and reviewing all agreements related to real estate development and ownership, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, joint venture agreements, financing documentation, easement agreements, and Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs). Bill also represents developers and property owners in connection with public real estate financing, specifically on structuring development agreements and obtaining approvals for various public finance vehicles such as Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Transportation Development Districts (TDD) and Community Improvement Districts (CID). Prior to joining Capes Sokol, Bill was a partner at a local law firm specializing in real estate law, Senior Counsel with The May Department Stores Company, and General Counsel with a privately held real estate company.

Bill currently serves as Immediate Past President of Congregation Shaare Emeth, a congregation of 1,500 families located in St. Louis.
