Cohen Named 2019 Law Firm Leader
Capes Sokol proudly announces that Jeffrey A. Cohen, Managing Shareholder, has been named a 2019 Law Firm Leader by Missouri Lawyers Weekly . The award, presented during the annual Missouri Lawyers Awards, is awarded to, “chairpersons, managing partners or other law firm executives who demonstrated extraordinary vision, innovation and leadership during the year.”
“Since his election to Capes Sokol’s Managing Shareholder in 2015, Jeff has led the firm in strategic and deliberate growth,” said Sara G. Neill, Capes Sokol Shareholder. “Meanwhile, Jeff remains focused on representing his business and transactional clients, and was recently recognized as Best Lawyers St. Louis Lawyer of the Year in the area of “Business Organizations.” Jeff is an exceptional lawyer, mentor, and leader of Capes Sokol. Jeff is one of the twenty-three honorees selected statewide for the annual Missouri Lawyers Awards. In addition to the Law Firm Leader category, members of the Missouri legal community will be recognized in the following categories: Lawyers of the Year, Influential Lawyers, Legal Champions, and Influential Appellate Advocates. He will be recognized with the other honorees in early January at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown St. Louis. In addition, he will be profiled in a special edition issue of Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
Jeff A. Cohen
Jeff serves as Managing Shareholder and President of Capes Sokol. Jeff has experience across a wide range of industries, including real estate, distribution, manufacturing and service businesses. Jeff also focuses on the representation of closely-held businesses and their owners through the entire life of the company, including mergers and acquisitions, contract arrangements, business and succession planning, financing, corporate governance and other general business matters.
Jeff is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations, as well as serving as a board member and officer of several for-profit and not-for-profit companies. For his contributions to the greater St. Louis area, Jeff has received a number of accolades, including: 2017 Unsung Hero from the St. Louis Jewish Light, the 2015 Leadership Award from Crown Center for Senior Living, and the 2017 Top 100 St. Louisans to Know To Succeed In Business from St. Louis Small Business Monthly.
