Capes Sokol Volunteers at Clinic for Entrepreneurs and Non-Profits
On April 19, 2016, four attorneys from the Capes Sokol Business and Finance, and Real Estate Practice Areas, Sarah Luem, Brian Sabin, Callie Tucker and Andrew Westbrook, provided pro bono legal services at a legal clinic organized by Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Inc. (LSEM) and hosted by Grace Hill Settlement House. Prior to hosting the clinic, the attorneys participated in a training session with representatives from LSEM.
Community Economic Development Program
The legal clinic is part of LSEM’s Community Economic Development Program, which assists low income entrepreneurs and non-profits with basic legal needs of their organization. Individuals and organizations attending the clinic were able to discuss legal topics with the Capes Sokol attorneys for 30-minute one-on-one sessions. Eligible attendees may receive additional pro bono legal services arranged by LSEM.
The legal clinic took place at the Grace Hill Water Tower Hub located at 2125 Bissell Street, St. Louis, MO 63107, which was especially gratifying for the attorneys, as Capes Sokol serves as general counsel to Grace Hill and represented Grace Hill with respect to the development of the property, which opened in 2011.
Capes Sokol enjoyed visiting the Grace Hill Water Tower Hub, a one-stop-shop for economic, education and health services, and looks forward to participating in future legal clinics organized by LSEM.
