John S. Meyer, Jr., Capes Sokol Shareholder, was recently recognized as a 2019 “Best M&A Provider” by St. Louis Small Business Monthly. The publication accepts nominations and surveys its readers for the best M&A providers in St. Louis. John was nominated for being one of the best advisors to business owners in St. Louis.

“Since beginning my career at Bryan Cave in 1984 and continuing with my role as chair of the Business and Finance and Real Estate practice groups at Capes Sokol, I have been privileged to represent the buyers and sellers of large, medium and small companies,” said John. “Recent transactions include Wallis Oil Companies’ acquisition of the U-Gas and Dirt Cheap Stores and Prism Medical USA’s purchase of distributors, including Argo-Century and Medcare Products, Inc.  When Prism Medical was acquired by Handicare of Sweden, Capes Sokol oversaw the roll-up merger of the North American companies into Handicare USA.  I enjoy the technical aspects of structuring the transaction as well as the give and take of negotiating a deal that achieves the buyer and the seller’s objectives.”

In addition to being named one of the “Best M&A Providers” in St. Louis, John was selected as the 2018 “Lawyer of the Year” St. Louis for Corporate Law by The Best Lawyers in America ©. An honor that is only given to a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area.
