Capes Sokol is pleased to welcome its 2017 Summer Associate Class – Danielle M. Durban, Jonathan S. Jones, Bradford C. Moye, and Matthew A. Thoelke. The program is designed such that our Summer Associates assist in the preparation of substantive work product on behalf of our clients, and are additionally offered an experiential component to acquaint them with aspects of the legal practice which are rarely touched upon in the academic setting of law school.

Danielle M. Durban

Danielle M. Durban

Danielle M. Durban attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May 2018. A Dean’s Scholar, Danielle is a member of the Student Financial Committee, an Honor Council Judge, a Teaching Fellow, a Research Fellow, and a 2L Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant. In addition to her legal studies, Danielle has volunteered at Gateway EITC Community Coalition, an organization providing tax return services to low income families in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Originally from St. Louis, Danielle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Minor in Political Science.

Jonathan S. Jones

Jonathan S. Jones

Jonathan S. Jones attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May 2018. Jonathan is a member of the SLU Law First Chair Society and the SLU Law Federalist Society. Jonathan was invited to participate on SLU Law’s National Moot Court team in 2017 after receiving the Judge Robert Dowd Sr. Appellate Advocacy Award for oral arguments presented during the 2016-17 academic year. Originally from Fairview Heights, IL, Jonathan graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Minor in Legal Studies.

Bradford C. Moye

Bradford C. Moye

Bradford C. Moye attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May 2018. A Certified Public Accountant, Brad is an active member of the SLU Law Community. He is Treasurer of the SLU Law Tax Club, a member of the SLU Law Black Law Students Association, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, an international Law Fraternity. He was Chairman of the Finance Committee for the SLU Law Student Bar Association from 2015 – 2016. In addition to his legal studies, Brad lends his time as an IRS-certified volunteer  to the local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, which provides free tax help for qualifying taxpayers. Originally from Texas, Brad graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Matthew A. Thoelke

Matthew A. Thoelke

Matthew A. Thoelke attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May 2018. Matthew is a member of the SLU Law Business Law Association and the SLU Law Sports & Entertainment Law Association. He has also served as a guide for first-year law students as a 1L Orientation Mentor and a SLU Law Teaching Fellow, a position reserved for outstanding upper level students who lead small groups of first year law students. Matthew was a 2017 Judge Robert Dowd Sr. Appellate Advocacy Award recipient, an award presented to the top four students in the moot court program. In addition, he received an award for finishing in First Place and for “Most Outstanding Oralist” at the 2017 SLU Law Final Argument Moot Court Competition. Originally from St. Louis, Matthew graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Minors in Business and French.

Capes Sokol Summer Associate Program

Capes Sokol’s Summer Associate Program provides second-year law students with challenging assignments which require them to work together with Shareholders and Associates in the real work of the firm. Summer Associates learn to address the practical problems our clients face under the guidance of our experienced attorneys. Capes Sokol commits significant resources and effort to conduct a high-quality Summer Associate Program that is both enriching for participants and beneficial to the firm as a whole.
