Capes Sokol Welcomes 2020 Summer Associates
Capes Sokol is pleased to welcome its 2020 Summer Associate Class – Ellen J. Bruntrager, Austin C. Davis, Kara L. Lambert, and Trudy E. Wurm.
2020 Summer Associate Class
Ellen J. Bruntrager
Ellen attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May 2021. She is President of the SLU Women Law Students’ Association and a member of the SLU Law Trial Advocacy Competition Team. She is the Note and Comment Editor for the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law. Besides law school, Ellen served as an extern for the Missouri Court of Appeals and as a labor intern for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.
Ellen graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish, a Minor in Business Administration and Certificates in American Constitutional Democracy and Multicultural Studies.
Austin C. Davis
Austin attends University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and will graduate in May 2021. In 2018, he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® for Legal Research and Writing, given to the highest scoring student in each law school course. He serves as the Layout and Design Editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution. In addition, Austin takes part in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic and is a Law School Admissions Ambassador.
Austin graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Certificate in Multicultural Studies.
Kara L. Lambert
Kara attends the University of Arkansas School of Law and will graduate in May 2021. She served as Secretary of the Student Bar Association and as a Staff Editor for the Journal of Food Law and Policy. Kara participated twice in the Board of Advocates Competition. Kara served as a research assistant for University of Arkansas Professor Howard Brill, a former Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. In 2019, Kara was an extern for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Courtney Hudson Goodson.
Kara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Legal Studies from the University of Arkansas.
Trudy E. Wurm
Trudy attends Washington University School of Law and will graduate in May 2021. She is a Staff Editor for the Washington University Jurisprudence Review. Trudy served as President of Phi Alpha Delta, a preeminent law fraternity. During her 1L year, Trudy was a law clerk with the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri Foundation. Prior to attending law school, Trudy was a legal intern for the 2016 Hillary for America Campaign.
Trudy graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political and Feminist Theory. A four-year member of the Dean’s List, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Politics and International Affairs.
Capes Sokol Summer Associate Program
Capes Sokol’s Summer Associate Program provides second-year law students with challenging assignments which require them to work together with Shareholders and Associates in the real work of the firm. Summer Associates learn to address the practical problems our clients face under the guidance of our experienced attorneys. Capes Sokol commits significant resources and effort to conduct a high-quality Summer Associate Program that is both enriching for participants and beneficial to the firm as a whole.
