Kahn to Introduce Film at 21st Annual St. Louis Jewish Film Festival
On June 7, 2016, Michael A. Kahn, Capes Sokol shareholder and award-winning author, will introduce the film Fire Birds at the 21st Annual St. Louis Jewish Film Festival. The St. Louis Jewish Film Festival, presented by the Jewish Community Center, featured documentaries, dramas and short films for five days in June. The festival, “showcases national and international cinema that explores universal issues through traditional Jewish values, opposing viewpoints and new perspectives.”
Movie Description: Thrilling, compelling… An old man’s body is found with three stab wounds and a number tattooed on his arm. A detective who is a second generation Holocaust survivor reluctantly works the case. The story interweaves past and present. In a series of flashbacks, we see the victim seeking connection, financial support and companionship by searching obituaries for widows to beguile. He finally feels the need to “reinvent” himself by membership in the most horrible club in the world: the club of Holocaust survivors.
