Capes Sokol Continues Growth with Real Estate Group Additions
Capes Sokol continues the firm’s expansion with the addition of five attorneys and additional staff with over 150 years of collective experience to its Business and Real Estate Group.
Today, the firm announced the addition of attorneys William “Bill” B. Remis, Francis X. “Butch” Miller, and Stacy Engles Wipfler as shareholders, and Mitchell “Mitch” H. Herzog and Robert T. West, as senior counsel.
“Our new colleagues have tremendous reputations in the St. Louis community, and we are confident they will make significant contributions to the success of Capes Sokol,” said Jeffrey A. Cohen, Capes Sokol’s Managing Shareholder. “Capes Sokol has experienced significant, double-digit growth for more than a decade. The addition of these respected lawyers allows us to meet the continued, growing needs of our clients.”
“My colleagues and I are thrilled to be joining the Capes Sokol team,” said Bill. “We have enjoyed a collaborative professional relationship with Capes Sokol for years, and this is a logical next step that allows us to add additional services to new and longstanding clients.”
Bill devotes a significant portion of his practice to working with real estate developers and investors on complex commercial development, acquisition, financing and sale of retail, industrial, multi family, and mixed-use projects. He also represents developers and property owners in connection with public real estate financing.
Butch represents developers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, and sellers during all phases of the acquisition, development, construction, and financing of all types of real estate. He works with individuals involved in property title and survey disputes, purchase and sales agreements, as well as financial and leasing matters.
Stacy works with local and national clients on commercial real estate matters, from malls to office buildings and large warehouse projects, including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, financing, and all aspects of development, operations and management of retail, office, and industrial projects.
Mitch, a veteran in real estate law, specializes in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. He brings over 35 years of experience to the firm, previously working on commercial real estate matters as senior counsel for The May Department Stores Company and Macy’s Inc.
Robert devotes a substantial portion of his practice to counseling real estate developers and owners of industrial and multi family real estate.
In addition, Cornelia A. Summers, senior paralegal, and A. Christine Scott, business & finance and real estate senior analyst, and several administrative staff members have joined the group.
“Capes Sokol’s guiding principles of exceeding the expectations of our clients and colleagues; and our values of teamwork, quality, integrity, diversity, and the relentless drive to improve through open, honest communication are essential to our long-term success,” said Jeffrey. “I’m confident the professionals joining our firm will be a perfect fit for our colleagues and our clients.”
